Integration

Connect Odoo to LINE, forms and spreadsheets and enter data only once

Connecting Odoo to n8n saves data from your LINE Official Account, website forms and Google Sheets into Odoo automatically, and sends Odoo order and inventory changes to LINE or other systems. n8n has a built-in Odoo node (a ready-made connector) that reads and writes data through Odoo's external API; among Odoo's own plans, external API access is only available on the Custom plan. A single workflow usually launches in 1–2 weeks, and cross-system integration in 3–6 weeks.

Systems involved

  • Odoo (Odoo's cloud or self-hosted)
  • n8n integration tool (cloud or self-hosted)
  • LINE Official Account
  • Website forms (for example Google Forms)
  • Google Sheets

Time to launch

A single workflow, such as saving form leads to Odoo, usually takes 1–2 weeks; integrating Odoo with LINE, spreadsheets and other systems usually takes 3–6 weeks. Timing depends on your Odoo version and plan, the number of custom fields and how many approval steps you want.

What runs automatically once connected

Form and LINE leads saved to Odoo

Starts when: A website form is submitted, or a customer leaves contact details on LINE

  1. 1Check Odoo for an existing contact to avoid duplicates
  2. 2Create or update the Odoo contact and opportunity, noting the source
  3. 3Assign a sales rep by your rules and notify them

Result: Leads no longer need to be copied into Odoo, and every one shows its source and owner.

Odoo order status alerts

Starts when: An Odoo order is confirmed or shipped

  1. 1An Odoo automation rule sends a notice, or n8n checks for changed orders on a schedule
  2. 2Find the customer and the sales rep on that order
  3. 3Send a LINE message to customers who linked their account, or alert your team

Result: Customers and colleagues stop asking for updates because they hear as soon as the status changes.

Odoo figures in a Google Sheets report

Starts when: A set time each day or week

  1. 1Read sales, inventory or receivables figures from Odoo
  2. 2Build a Google Sheets report in the format you want
  3. 3Flag mismatched data instead of silently skipping it

Result: Managers and colleagues who don't use Odoo can open a spreadsheet and see the numbers they need.

Odoo synced with other systems

Starts when: A new order or stock change in another system, such as an online store or warehouse system

  1. 1Match it to Odoo products and customers
  2. 2Write it to Odoo, or place it on the approval list first
  3. 3Record the result back in the original system and keep failures on a pending list

Result: Each record is entered once, and the numbers on both sides match.

What to prepare

  • Whether your Odoo runs on Odoo's cloud or is self-hosted, plus its version and plan
  • A dedicated Odoo user for the integration with only the permissions it needs, and an API key
  • Admin access to your LINE Official Account with the Messaging API (LINE's integration feature) enabled
  • Edit access to your website forms and Google Sheets
  • A field map from form and LINE fields to Odoo fields
  • Rules for who handles new leads and which actions need approval

Good to know first

  • Among Odoo's own plans, external API access is only available on the Custom plan, not on One App Free or Standard. On those plans you can consider changing plans or use export files instead, which can do less. Odoo's official site has the current plan details.
  • For Odoo you host yourself or through a partner, we first check the version, installed modules and whether n8n can reach your server.
  • Odoo is moving to a new integration method, and its older XML-RPC and JSON-RPC endpoints are scheduled for removal in Odoo 22. We choose the method for your version and recheck workflows when Odoo is upgraded.
  • Custom fields and modules your team added are checked one by one to confirm they can be read and written.
  • LINE alerts only go to customers who added your account and linked it, and messages you send count toward your LINE Official Account plan's monthly message allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Does n8n have a ready-made Odoo node?
Yes. n8n's built-in Odoo node can create, read, update and delete contacts, opportunities and notes, and handle other Odoo data as custom resources. Anything the node can't do can be done by calling Odoo's external API directly.
We're on Odoo's Standard plan. Can we still connect?
Odoo's documentation states that external API access is only available on the Custom plan, not on One App Free or Standard. On Standard, you can consider changing plans or use files exported from Odoo for reports and sync, which is not real time and can do less. Odoo's official site has the current plan details.
Does this work with self-hosted Odoo?
We can look at it. For self-hosted Odoo we first check the version, installed modules and whether n8n can reach your server. If the server is only on your internal network, n8n usually needs to run somewhere that can reach it.
How are LINE users matched to Odoo contacts?
The customer first adds your LINE Official Account. The first time they interact, they share a phone number or email, the system checks it against Odoo contacts and saves the LINE account on that contact, so later notices can reach them. Customers can unlink at any time.
How long does it take to launch?
A single workflow, such as saving form leads to Odoo, usually takes 1–2 weeks. Integrating Odoo with LINE, spreadsheets and other systems usually takes 3–6 weeks. Timing depends on your Odoo version and plan, the number of custom fields and how many approval steps you want.
